Sexing[edit]

It is difficult to sex these fish when juvenile. Older fish will be easier, with the female having more muted colouration and the male developing a nuchal hump.

Tank compatibility[edit]

This fish can be territorial, so keep in male/female pairs or singly with similar-sized robust, semi-aggressive fish.

Feeding regime[edit]

Feed once or twice a day.
