Origin
:The Tonguefish is from the Malay Peninsula, but can also be found in Thailand and Indonesia

Tank compatibility
:Generally a peaceful fish, but avoid fish that are small enough to become a meal. Also, it can seldom do okay with aggressive and semi-aggressive cichlids, because of its oval/circle shape similar to a Silver Dollar, except that it lays flat on the substrate unlike silver dollars, which swim upright. It will though do well with peaceful cichlids like Severum Cichlids and Firemouth Cichlids. It will also do well with other fish like Plecos, Larger Tetras, and Barbs, and many other freshwater and brackish fish.

Diet
:The Tonguefish is a Carnivore which accepts Meaty Foods and Live Foods. Though occasionally it will accept Vegetable Food and Tablet Food.

Feeding regime
:Feed 2-3 times a day.

Environment specifics
:The Tonguefish accepts a wide variety of environments, but would appreciate 50% forested and 50% open. It will do best with sand substrate. It does well in both Freshwater and Brackish environments, but a slightly brackish environment would be perferred.

Behaviour
:The Tonguefish is generally a peaceful community fish, but avoid fish that are small enough to become a meal. Also avoid aggressive fish.

Identification
:Look similar to its saltwater cousins, only MUCH smaller, with a flat, oval-shaped body which it uses to slide through the substrate of the fish tank.

My Missions
I am currently planning to add these fish to the wiki:

*Sabertooth Characin Hydrolycus armatus
My Fish Tank
I have a large fish tank with a unique community in a 450 US Gallon (1703.44 Litre) fish tank, with the following types of fish:

*2 Oscars (One Tiger, One Albino)
*2 Jack Dempseys (One Normal, One Electric-Blue)
*2 Convict Cichlids (One male and One female)
*4 Severums
*3 Blood Parrots
*1 Bumblebee Cichlid
*2 Kenyi Cichlids
*2 Electric Blue Haps
*1 Electric Yellow Hap
*2 Albino Haps
*5 Silver Dollars (2 Normal, 2 Red-Tailed)
*4 Buenos Aires Tetras
*1 Kissing Gouramis
*2 Snakeskin Gouramis
*2 Firemouth Cichlids (Has fry currently living in a separate 5 gallon fish) (SO ADORABLE)
*1 Salvini Cichlid
*1 Jaguar Cichlid
*1 Peacock Eel
♪And a partridge in a pear tree♪

Please Note (Don't Judge Me)
I provided enough hiding spots for the smaller fish like the Silver Dollars, the Bucktooth Tetras, and the Buenos Aires Tetras, so that the more larger, aggressive fish in the aquarium like the Jaguar Cichlid wont attack/eat them.

Oh Plants! Oh Plants? Oh Plants?
Oh! I have plenty of plants! Like I said in the "Please Note (Don't Judge Me)" section, I have a plant forest which I named The Dither Forest. Because I have smaller community members with the larger, more aggressive candidates. In which I use that forest to hide the smaller fish, and I usually put in my Tetra Min flakes into the artificial forest. I also have 5 marimo moss balls in which the fish love to play Fishball with! The best player in the fishtank is the Kissing Gourami. I also have a few other artificial and real plants outside of the forest in which the certain creatures play in. I also have lots of decorations and artificial corals in which the fish also use for recreativity.

Invertebrates? Eh!
I have the following invertebrates:
*15 Snails
*30 Shrimps
HalfbeakedGarhttps://assets.theaquariumwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Pangasius_sanitwongsei&diff=83399Pangasius sanitwongsei2017-09-26T23:06:25Z
HalfbeakedGar:

Hi, I have a doubt about editing a page or not doing it. http://www.theaquariumwiki.com/Corydoras_adolfoi picture is wrong. The catfish in that photo is a C. Duplicareus.
C. Adolfoi don't have a thick line like C. Duplicaerus have. Also C. Duplicaerus are stockier than C. Adolfoi (this ones usually grows 1cm more in length than C. Duplicaerus. Check http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/_species.php?species_id=1 to see the difference. Usually LFS sell C. Duplicaerus as Adolfoi because they are quite alike (also I'll be uploading new C. Duplicaerus photos soon) --Bittersweet 16:23, 9 February 2012 (CST)
SVG Images
Hi Brian, I posted this to Quarter master talk page as well...but after looking around you might be able to answer this as well:

I'm trying to SVG images to render correctly on my wiki but am having problems. Looks like you have been able to do it. Can you offer any suggestions? In particular, I'm trying to get images for template:ambox to work and some state flags.

Thanks

Kevin
:Hey kevin, its been awhile since I set this up, I think it was some issue with imagemagik. If i remember I'll let you know. --Brian 01:51, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, if you think of it please drop me a line. The svgs I'm trying to get to work correctly are from template:ambox...which it looks like you guys have imported from wikipedia as well. Also trying to get some state flags to work. Wikipedia uses librsvg as an svg renderer so I was looking into that but if it can be done with imagemagik that might be a little easier. It's probably something in local settings...

Also having some slowness issues...I think that might be the webhost. It looks like you've got a webhosting company, any suggestions?

thanks for your help!

Kevin
:Hey there, I looked over my LocalSettings.php and I recently added $wgSVGConverter = "rsvg"; to the configuration, I would look at that. As for the webhosting, I used to have a webhosting company but I sold it and moved all my personal sites to a VPS from rackspace http://www.rackspacecloud.com/. So far its been great, and the speed is nice. I have a 512 VPS, so it cost ~$20/month for the server + more for the bandwidth. If your able to manage your own box its great choice. Whats your wiki btw? P.S. when I was with hostgator.com I felt that did a great job, but its been 4 years since I have been on true shared hosting. --Brian 23:58, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Hmmm, ok I'll take a look at that. I was already on that track and had that line in my local settings but did not add $wgSVGConverterPath yet and download the library.
Send me your email and I'll send you a link. It's still a work in progress so don't want to post public links just yet.
::I fixed it earlier, every now and then the DB table crashes that stores the processed pages. Its a side effect of the amount of traffic and the table driver being a poorer driver. Converting to the new driver is a headache and I have looked into it. As for the "500 Internal Server Errors", I see them, but they are not creating any log entries so it is essentially impossible to track since they are reliable not reproducible. If you can reproduce them regularly it will be easier to track down.
Is anyone active!?!
Hello, I need your help! Some of the templates for the aquatic creatures (min/max temperature, availability, etc.) are all missing! I really need someone else to come on and help!!!! I feel like I'm the only person on this site anymore! Please fix them! Thanks!

-HalfbeakedGar September 1, 2017 16:03 PM (UCT)

* Hey, sorry for the delay. Are we active.. kinda. Catt and I stop by from time to time to clean up. I for one just don't have the time I once had in college what with kids and all now. I noticed the broken templates a bit ago, and have been working on getting a backup copy of the wiki restored into a local instance. I think I found what I need to fill in the missing templates. I truly appreciate your efforts to fix the site. Please reach out if you have any questions. --Brian (talk) 01:31, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
Add Temperament in the fish infoboxes
Dear Brian,

I would love it, if you added a "Temperament" template for the fish infoboxes. Thanks!
{{Basic fish page
|origin=:Asia: Sumatra and Borneo. Introduced widely and has been reared in several countries in facilities for breeding aquarium fishes.
|sexing=:Very hard to tell apart when young.

:Healthy adult males are reputed to have a solid red colour on the trailing edge throughout the whole length of the dorsal fin. With females this stripe is suppose to be much shorter or broken.

:In males their ventral fins and noses are bright red, in females these are paler red and the female may have a transparent edge on their ventral fins.
|tank_compatibility=:This fish must be kept in a group of 5-6 or more to avoid them nipping at other fish. Do not keep with slow-moving long finned fish such as Betta splendens, Male Guppies and Angelfish. Will co-habit with robust and fast-swimming tank mates.
|diet=:Will accept flake, worms, bloodworm etc. Feed lots of different foods to ensure you bring out its red fins and red nose. It is an easily fed fish that is often the first to get to the food.
|feeding_regime=:Feed once or twice a day.
|environment_specifics=:This fish must be kept in a group of at least 5 or more. If not, then it will start to nip and trouble other fish around it. They require a laterally spacious tank with plenty of open swimming space as well as the option of hiding places in tall plants.
|behaviour=:When kept in a school of at least 5 or more you will notice a few of the fish 'standing on their head'. As this type of school has a dominant leader, the Tiger Barb shows its submissiveness to others by tilting its body.

:You'll often see two Tiger Barbs fighting for superiority. They'll try to push each other (in a fairly harmless way) via their mouths until the loser gives up and swims away. Occasionally you'll even see three doing this.
|identification=:There are several colour morphs of the Tiger Barb available, the wild type is light brown with around 4 vertical black bands down their flanks. Other variations include albino, red albino (albino with red on the flanks), yellow with black eyes (the bands are white), orange with black eyes (the bands are white), green (instead of orange, the flanks are mottled green with the bands barely visible), blue-grey (as the green) and translucent scaled, but with normal black bands.

Temperament refers to the typical behavior that a fish exhibits in a community with other fish.

Peaceful - This means that this particular fish is most often very peaceful, and would make a great community fish. These fish usually will very rarely attack other fish, unless during special times, such as during breeding. Peaceful fish won't usually eat other fish unless if they are very small fry, which would only be most likely an accident.

Semi-Aggressive - This means that it is not entirely peaceful, but not quite aggressive either. These fish are usually more likely to be a small conflict to other fish in the community by doing this such as, fin-nipping, or eating fish small enough to fit in their mouths, or are somewhat territorial. Though, these fish still make good community fish members, if you pick good tankmates, and monitor some actions that are somewhat suspicious.

Aggressive - This means it will be very territorial, and will attack many members of the community, especially smaller ones. These fish also are known to eat fish that are smaller. These fish don't make good community members, but will tolerate bigger fish, or fish that cannot fit in their mouths.

Species - This means it is so aggressive to other fish, except for those of the same species, that they are best kept by themselves in a species tank.

Solitary - This means that this particular fish is best kept in a solitary tank by itself. This is most likely due to the fact that they will virtually attack, or even eat any other fish in the tank no matter the size, so it would be best to keep this fish is best kept by itself in a fish tank, with no other fish.
HalfbeakedGarhttps://assets.theaquariumwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Temperament&diff=83294Temperament2017-09-04T01:24:07Z
HalfbeakedGar:

{{Basic fish page
|origin=:Oscars come from Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, and French Guiana. They live in the Amazon River Basin. This fish can be found in slow moving white water under submerged branches and rocks.
|sexing=:Unlike many Cichlids, it's impossible to tell the sex of Oscars other than venting or by catching them spawning. See the link below entitled "Sexing Oscars", which is a study on the sexing and breeding of Oscars.
|tank_compatibility=:A highly territorial fish, so be wary with tank mates, since an Oscar will likely eat any fish that will fit into their mouth. Any tank mates must be large and semi-aggressive, such as Synodontis Catfish, large Plecos, Pictus Catfish, Tinfoil Barbs or Banded Leporinus. Tank mates must only be attempted in tanks over 100.
|diet=:Oscars should be fed a varied diet to maintain optimum health. They will eat most anything, but good quality Cichlid pellets should be the staple of their diet. Live foods, including crickets, earthworms, bloodworms and other insects, promote good digestion. In the wild, an Oscar's diet is approximately 60% insects.

:Avoid feeding store-bought Feeder Fish, these fish are typically very stressed or diseased, and can lead to health complications in Oscars. Feeder fish may provide a small amount of nutritional value, but tend to make Oscars more aggressive towards any tanks mates.

:Oscars also benefit from some vegetables in their diet such as lettuce, peas, zucchini and cucumber. Soaking pellets in liquid vitamins occasionally will help prevent the fish coming down with Hole in the Head disease.
|feeding_regime=:Feed once or twice a day, however be prepared to be begged for food constantly by your Oscar, and rest assured that this is one fish that would be quite happy to eat all day long. Oscars are also known to be quite intelligent fish, and it is quite common for them to become so fond of a particular food or foods that they will not accept or even acknowledge other types of foods.

:Oscars are voracious eaters and will happily eat any time their human is in proximity to their tank, but once an Oscar reaches about 6 inches in length, they only need to be feed once or maybe twice a day.

:Please note that although the Oscar will eat abnormally often it is probably not advisable in the interest of the long term health of your fish to feed them more than what is recommended.
|environment_specifics=:Exceptionally large and well filtered tank required. Any décor must be stable and heavy so as not to be knocked over and damage the tank. Any planting may be "rearranged". Also a heavy secure lid is suggested as Oscars are known to jump out of the tank and even injure themselves if they try and jump and crash into the lid.
|behaviour=:Oscars can be highly aggressive and territorial fish. Only keep in a large aquarium with fish around its size. They are also known as messy fish, so superb filtration is a must when keeping these fish. Oscars are very hardy fish that can tolerate a range of water conditions, but they are susceptible to a variety of diseases due to poor water quality. They are also very intelligent and are able to distinguish between their owners and other humans. Oscars are well known and loved by aquarium hobbyists due to their varied but always entertaining personalities and antics.
|identification=:A large oval-shaped fish with large eyes and a paddle-like caudal fin. Colouration is varied and includes albino. Long-fin varieties are rare but do exist. Albino and pale-coloured Oscars have been seen to be targeted in the dyed fish trade.

:The main colour variants are:
:*Wild Type - deep olive grey body with some darker black and some orange-red patches
:*Albino - white body, red eyes
:*Lutino Cross - white body with orange irregular patches
:*Orange - grey-olive base colour with a red-orange "blush" across the majority of the body
:*Red Tiger - closest variant to the wild-type Oscar, a deep olive-grey body with irregular orange bands criss-crossing the flanks
:*Red - similar to the Orange, but a deeper red in colour and may have some darker banding through the "blush"

:It must be noted that in their first year of life, Oscars are quite fast growing, in a spacious tank with good nutrition will happily grow around 0.5"-1" a month, slowing at around 6 months, achieving around 7"-8" within a year. After that the growth rate will slow down.
