The dwarf oto is a small algae eating suckermouth catfish belonging to the Otocinclus family.
However this name is applied equally to several members of this family. The fish themselves can look very similar to the untrained eye.
- Otocinclus macrospilus - Most commonly found in aquarium shops.
- Otocinclus vittatus - another common species found in shops (missing black spot on base of caudal).
- Otocinclus affinis - a rarer species of Oto.
