Identification
- An elongated fish with a pointed snout. Adults are colourful with yellow-green colour around the head fading to purple-blue/red on the body and again to yellow-green at the caudal peduncle with an eyespot. It has several slender vertical white bands on the flanks, and horizontal white bands edged in purple on the head. The fins are purple with white spots.
