Feeding regime[edit]
- Feed once or twice a day.

- These fish are pretty unfussy with water conditions and very adaptable. They do best in brackish though, alkaline and a temperature 23.9-27.2°C (75-81°F) .
Behaviour[edit]
- A peaceful mouth-brooding Cichlid with plenty of character. Often bred as a food-fish.
Identification[edit]
- A large oval Cichlid which iridescent grey-blue in colour, the males are dark grey, the females lighter. Males have a pronounced dished face and red edging to the fins.
Notes[edit]
- This fish is notoriously prolific, and is more cold tolerant than its cousin the Nile Tilapia
