Sexing[edit]
- Anthias species all share the trait of being hermaphroditic. If a dominant male perishes, the largest female of the group will often morph to take its place. Males colouration tends to be more vivid than females.
Diet[edit]
- The diet in the wild primarily consists of zooplankton and floating filamentous algae. In the aquarium feed foods such as mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp and other meaty foods designed for fish that feed on zooplankton.
Feeding regime[edit]
- These fish are best fed between two to four times a day.
